Snow River, July 30th - 31st

Brad and I hiked up the Ptarmigan Lake trail, over Paradise Pass and into the Paradise Lakes valley and the Snow River.  We floated a bunch of the Snow River (and hiked alongside what we assume was some impressive cataract, we could not see it but we could hear and feel it) finally getting back to the the Seward Highway and a run/hitch back to the car.  I was a packed two days - a lot of extreme buskwacking but the river section made you really forget about the devil's club thorns and sore shins.

The end of the lake ... and the trail. The first mile of bushwacking was fairly brutal.

Looking at what was to come ... pretty thick

The Snow River ... finally!

Where we took out. The river began to narrow again and the topo showed a hige drop in the next few miles. Back on your heads!
