Pitchler's Perch 5.15 - 5.16
A few photos from a trip into Pitchler's Perch with Tony and Eric. We had hoped on climbing Peril Peak but the weather was pretty tough back there. We ended up doing a tour in the West Branch and getting jazzed about all the options for climbing and traveling in the area. It really is a spectacular place.
Day 1:
We biked in with ridiculously heavy loads. Tony tried a kiddie trailer and ended up ditching in the woods along the route (Becky rode it back for him). We did not set any records in getting in to the hut but the traveling in was remarkably smooth even with our late start (after noon!).
Day 2:
A tour around the West Branch then skiing, walking, and biking out. The wind and cloud cover kept us from considering Peril. We were back at the cars at a reasonable hour and almost made it there without a mishap - Eric lost a pulley on his rear derailleur at mile 5 and Tony broke his chain within two miles of the cars.
