Lots of beta from the Alaska Mountain Forum and incredible weather made for a quick and enjoyable day on Bashful. The hardest part was merely getting myself back on route after an early error. The rest of the day went off without a hitch!
First glimpse of Bashful in the early morning light.
Exiting Stiver's
Huckleberries!
The route to the ridge (grassy ramp on the right)
Easy street
The ridge had a surprising amount of tundra (not always this much)
The summit in shadow
Running under the tipping stone
The CS area. I ascended to the left of the snow remnants. Redfox used the chimney on the left.
Peregrine
An odd layer of ice/snow made for slippery (and oddly unnerving) footing through some shadowy sections up high:
The summit (worth comparing to Redfox's shots from a week earlier ... much less snow in just a week!):
The top
Looking down the ridge
Looking down that nasty thing that Redfox climbed!
Looking down what I climbed
Looking up what I climbed
Another view of the CS area
And again (notice the gully on the right ... it looked possible also)
Looking down at Stivers and the route up to Bashful
