Stellar day in the Chugach. Tony and I finally climbed Flute Peak after two previous attempts. Perhaps it was the weather, perhaps our route selection (finally we decided the standard route was the way to go) but probably it was our good luck charm Adrienne, who came with us to the Organ Glacier. Early start:
Heading up in to the Flute Glacier valley:
Our first glimpse of Flute Peak:
On the Flute Glacier:
August showing off on the perfect crust:
Heading up to a pass to the Organ Glacier (I would use a different one in the future):

Heading down onto the Organ Glacier:
Looking up at August and Adrienne:
The pass we should have taken (and did, for our return):
Again, with Flute:
On the Organ Glacier:
Hot times on the Organ:
Tony's last two weekends ... Polar Bear:
...and Eagle...
Climbing up:
The final 1/2 pitch of rock:
The Summit!
No pencil in the register (both Tony and I had pens in our packs ... which were back at the base of the rock climb):
We could see Adrienne back on the Flute Glacier when we were on top:
The rock pitch:
After an incredible butt-slide!
Heading up to the other pass:
Back on the Flute Glacier:
With Flute Peak in the background:
The crust was gone:
Taking our chances on Eagle Lake ... it held!
The end of the ice:
