July 9 - 12th
The coast. It was recommended to us to have some extra time to explore the coast by those that had been here before. We had 3 1/2 days. We could have spent a mont h ... perhaps a lifetime ... here.
The first day we just beach combed along the shore in front of the cabin. The second day we planned on heading out for an overnight. However, a pretty severe storm came through and we basically just read, played hearts, and did cabin chores. On the third fay we walked and packrafted our way south to check out a lagoon on the southern end of Aniakchak Bay. On our final day, we cleaned up the cabin and waited for our flight back to Port Heiden.
