| The day began with getting Merrick out of bed and then a 10 mile bike into the trailhead (too much for dogs).
After an unnecessary (but fun) log crossing and bushwack we began the ascent of Stiver's Gully
At one point in Stiver's there is an unmistakable alpine plateau. Otherwise, it is rocky and steep !
Finally the summit with views of Eklutna Lake, Bashful Peak, and a sunlit grassy slope with Stiver's Gully in the foreground.
The ascent and descent involved a "fixed line." Although unnecessary today, with any moisture it would be very much appreciated !
As usual, a day with the Johnston women is one well spent !!
