Lakina 6.21 - 6.23
Brad and I spent five days in the Chitna/McCarthy/Kennecott area. Three of those days were spent with Jason and Mike traversing from Kennecott to the Lakina and then buttboating down the Lakina ... with three dogs! It was a classic buttboating trip - a benign glacier crossing, a gorgeous alpine valley, and fun but non-threatening river travel. The dogs may have a different story (I have never seen them so tired) but the human participants were all smiles. The weather on the second day was a bit tough but bookending the trip with two nice days made for a dry start and dry finish.
