Grizzly Bear Lake 7.23 - 7.24

Dave Hart and I (and August, Roxy and Tana) made a foray into the North Fork of Ship Creek.  I had planned on staying two nights and climbing a lot but the weather broke me and I headed out with Dave after only a single night.  In the one day of descent weather we had we did manage a nice traverse of Synthesizer, Synclavier, and Pyramid Peaks.  On the second day, we headed out via three passes (Kinglet Pass, Steamroller Pass, and Crow Pass).  At Kinglet Pass (where I made my decision to bail) we were buffeted with solid 30 mph winds.  A great outing overall with a fun partner in a special place.  I could return to Grizzly Bear Lake again and again.  And hopefully will.

Day 1: Through Paradise Pass and up on Synthesizer, Synclavier, and Pyramid Peaks

Leaving the Crow Pass Trail (and almost leaving Tana ... she ran off with another group of hikers; I caught up with her at Raven Gorge).

Looking up at Paradise Pass. It came out of the clouds for us very nicely as we approached.

At the pass looking down into Moraine Pass

We saw lots of sheep on the trip

On top!

Always good to have a solid dog to people ratio on your trips

With a bit of help, all the dogs made it to the top of Pyramid (and back down!).
