Camp 11: Below Fossil (12/8)
We ended up sharing this camp with a solo kayaker who was doing the river in SIX DAYS! A far cry from our 30 ...
We had a great day on the river and side canyons - Hakatai had great waves as well as Waltenburg and Fossil Rapids. We got to play in Elves Chasm which was a huge treat (although it took us a few stops to find the right drainage). FYI: We stopped at Fossil Camp but moved on (looked pretty poor). Also, the older map-books have different mileage readings beginning in this area.
